CURRENT OBJECT FETISH 2011
Examining key pieces from the international collections for Autumn/Winter 2011, Object Fetish trains obsessive attention onto fashion's latest objects of desire. Showcased in the glittering confines of Selfridges department store, the season's finest finery is metaphorically unpicked through film and text, laying bare the underlying themes and motivations behind our current sartorial fixations. Looking at millinery for the first time in this series, Alexander Fury examines Prada’s faux-fur helmet, whilst Nick Knight's fashion film starring supermodel Raquel Zimmermann makes us all want to believe that we too could sport this super-retro-futuristic accessory. CURRENT AGATHE AND SERAPHINE'S HOUSE
Nick Knight and Dinos Chapman collaborate on Agathe and Seraphine's House, a shoot for the first issue of Dasha Zhukova's art-meets-fashion magazine Garage and inspired by twisted images of Chapman's daughters' dollhouse. Knight brings these visions to life - and life-size - on model Lily Donaldson in an elaborate one-off shoot. Agathe and Seraphine's House features editorial images as well as a gallery of the magazine's launch event at London's Gagosian gallery. [more]
CURRENT MILAN COLLECTIONS S/S 2012
Sport couture, silver leather and a hefty, heady dose of flower power: London Fashion Week has set the bar high for the season to come. Next up is Milan, where the five-letter likes of Gucci, Pucci, Prada and Fendi - alongside the rather wordier Bottega Veneta, Versace and of course Giorgio Armani - unleash their vision of what women should be wearing come 2012. Expect, glitter, glitz and truly Italian razzmatazz in the penultimate round of the European womenswear shows as fashion director Alexander Fury reports live alongside real-time image uploads from the NowFashion team. COMING UP PUNKATURE
Inspired by a mix of the raw and the rarefied - the beauty of Autumn/Winter 2011's best fashions juxtaposed against the savage grace of Punk - Nick Knight took to the streets with stylist Alister Mackie to shoot his editorial for the Winter 2011 issue of AnOther magazine. Catch all of the on-set action and see the twists and turns of inspiration and realisation played out in our re-stream of the 3-day shoot from Monday 26 - Wednesday 28 September from 18:00 BST.
COMING UP CAFÉ CONVERSATIONS
Following the launch of the latest SHOWstudio Shop exhibition The Café at Vogue’s Fashion Night Out earlier this month, we offer the next instalment of this unique SHOWstudio project; Café Conversations. The premise is simple: invite a selection of the most intriguing, exciting and influential movers-and-shakers in the fashion and art world to pull up a chair for coffee and conversation in our gallery space. The unusual aspect? The entire process will be streamed live to a worldwide audience, indulging our covert voyeuristic tendencies to the nth degree. The door is quite literally also thrown open to the public - come and enjoy coffee and (live) conversation as part of this living offline and online art installation.
FROM THE SHOP AGATHE AND SERAPHINE'S HOUSE, 2011
Dinos Chapman and Nick Knight's vision of Lily Donaldson as demented dolly in Agathe and Seraphine's House at London's Gagosian gallery closes today, and if seeing the images in the inaugural Garage magazine or online in our editorial gallery is not enough, signed posters of this elaborate one-off shoot are now available at the SHOWstudio Shop, alongside unsigned versions and Nick Knight's limited edition Agathe and Seraphine's House print.

FROM THE ARCHIVE 24 Hrs | |
As part of an ongoing overhaul of our project archive including additional content and the restoration of original features, relaunching this week is 24 Hrs, a Nick Knight and Stefano Pilati collaboration for Yves Saint Laurent Edition 24. Inviting scripts from writers around the world to portray a day in the life of a YSL-clad Jessica Miller, 24 Hrs is a 4-act tale inspired by the political slogans of the early sixties' French New Wave and explores fashion's application to a relentless round-the-clock world. Also relaunched this week are Fashion DJs: SHOWstudio and Swarovski's unprecedented Abbey Street takeover taking in live performances from the Michael Clark Company, Paloma Faith and Florence Welch and a host of guests on the 1s and 2s including Naomi Campbell, Tim Blanks and Stella McCartney and Past, Present, Couture charting the first five years of John Galliano's premiership at Christian Dior Haute Couture. Examining the oeuvre of a true couture dreamer, Past, Present, Couture includes an essay on Galliano's relationship with modernity and historicism and an interview with the designer by Colin McDowell to accompany the 14 landmark images shot by Nick Knight. LATEST ENTRIES BLOG
The swansong finale at Giles Inspired by Warhol, Beaton and Nudie, the Royal Courts of Justice this evening hosted the Giles collection, all set to a backdrop that some readers may recognise from Mr Deacon's recent residence at Bruton Place. Developing the silver Nudie theme, Deacon applied silver fringing to leather shifts alongside their intricate lasercut counterparts with a number of monumental swan headpieces and maribou-trimmed showstoppers completing the supermodel-heavy extravaganza. House of Holland goes West There was much to admire at HoH in addition to the usual japes. For one, there was plenty of Cher à la Clueless checks rendered in a palette of colours that straddled between pastel and bright. Underneath it all though were some latex bras and boy shorts in collaboration with Kim West. Another latex name to add to the list that includes Atsuko Kudo and House of Harlot (maker of THOSE scalloped skirts at Marc Jacobs A/W 2011). [more]
