COMING UP IN FASHION, LADY AMANDA HARLECH RE-STREAM
Our latest In Fashion interviewee is a woman who has sat at the very centre of the fashion industry for over twenty years - Lady Amanda Harlech, right-hand woman to two of the most influential designers working in contemporary fashion, John Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld. For any viewers who missed the live stream of our intimate one-on-one conversation on Monday, fear not - today we showcase our footage of the interview once again, entirely unedited. Tune in to watch Harlech's poetic reflections on the 'power of the needle' as she discusses everything from Galliano's beg-and-borrow days as the romantic Incroyable of British fashion, to her work alongside Lagerfeld at Chanel, and the extraordinary conception of that neon Place Vendôme set for Chanel's A/W 2011 haute couture show. A unique insight into a pivotal and passionate figure in the international fashion world. In Fashion, Lady Amanda Harlech re-streams from 18:00 BST on Wednesday 13 July 2011.

The third live stream of our Les Smokings series sees tailor Ritchie Charlton of Savile Row stalwart Hayward move from 'The Row' to Bruton Place for a three-day live residency. From Monday 18 July 2011, Charlton and his team will take up the challenge of hand-crafting a tuxedo jacket to the most exacting standards, using traditional methods that have formed the backbone of the British fashion industry for centuries, simultaneously earning a tiny street in Mayfair its soubriquet as the birthplace of modern menswear. The final one-off piece will be modelled by music legend and Hayward client Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream. Shining a light on a time-honoured craft oft shrouded in secrecy, the entire process will be streamed live across three days, from 11:00 BST on Monday 18 July 2011.
FROM THE SHOP UNTITLED, 2010
In 2010 the award winning set designer Michael Howells marked the opening of London Fashion Week with his own interpretation of the Union Jack, flown from the parapets of Somerset House, the home of London Fashion Week, for six months. Howell’s flag, however, was not dressed in the usual old red white and blue - it was re-coloured in, orange, green and aqua blue, reflecting the unique fusion of tradition and innovation that has become an intrinsic element of British fashion. Credited with realising some of the most spectacular and ambitious sets as a production designer and art director working both in film and in fashion, Howells is closely aligned with many of the highest-profile practitioners in fashion and this playful flag proves why; he can inject even the most traditional of symbols with contemporary edge, and flare. Flying the flag has never seemed quite so fashionable. [more]

Haute Couture A/W 2011: Worth Couture Despite Parisian protestations, haute couture isn't a French art-form. It was founded by Charles Frederick Worth who, as the name suggests, was an Englishman.
