You’ve dropped your precious cell phone into water, now what? Hopefully it wasn’t the toilet you dropped your phone into, or if it was, hopefully you didn’t use the toilet at that moment. All of us at some point of time drop our phones in something we know is going to ruin it. I've dropped my phone quite a few times into water, but luckily it was either a phone that was in such a bad condition that it was on its way out, or it just didn't get spoiled because I took it out soon enough. But if you find yourself in a situation where the phone has been in the water for quite a long time for you to consider it as good as gone, then give the following steps a try. These are just tips at trying to revive your phone and I still can't guarantee if it'll really work, but if you dropped your phone in water, then why not give it a shot. 1) Ever wondered why water and smartphones don't mix? It's because the water short circuits the power provided from the battery to your phone. So whatever you do, if you're phone has switched off, then DO NOT turn it back on. 2) The next step is to pull out whatever is removable. SIM card, battery, memory card, everything. Unfortunately some phones like the iPhone just do not come with a removable battery. So you're just going to have to follow the next few steps and hope that you're phone still comes on. 3) Well this step may not seem very smart, but it's actually worth a shot. Did your phone fall into saltwater? Salt can corrode your phone even faster, so dunk it into freshwater, give it a shake in the freshwater quickly and pull it out again. 4) The next step is to blow out as much excess water as possible. Pull out the vacuum cleaner and attach the main pipe to the end that blows out air rather than sucks it in. Give the phone a good drying after this. Remember don't think about putting your phone in the oven even on low. This again can burn out circuit wiring. Don't even think of the microwave or a hairdryer with a heating element. 5) After this, I suggest you carefully place your phone into a covered container or zip lock bag with a lot of uncooked rice. The reason behind this is that rice has a lot of powdery starch content that is good at absorbing water (which is why water gets so cloudy every time you throw rice into it). So take a zip lock bag and put enough rice to cover the entire phone well. Throw in the other parts that got wet like the battery, memory card, SIM card, etc. Keep it in there for a good 24 hours. Alternatively you can try the same method but instead of rice, use moisture absorbing Dry-Packs, sometimes in pad form, other times in pellet form, usually some mixture of Silica Gel. I have found this to be very effective at removing the moisture from a device. 6) Again like I said this is just a 50-50 chance of recovering your phone from damage that is not too serious. So once you have left your phone in the rice bag for 24 hours, take it out, put all the parts back together, charge the battery till it reaches a full charge, and then cross your fingers and pray to god that it comes back on. I hope it does. Related posts: - Davidoff Hot Water I'm sure all of us have used Davidoff Cool Water...

Well. Here's a new PC that has been launched by LG. LG announces the launch of the V300 All-In-One PC. It is a touch screen and has been developed in partnership with Intel. In my opinion, this is the latest in a smart PC, that has intelligent features and looks cool as well. The PC features 3D FPR display which is presently used in LG's Cinema 3D TVs. It also uses Plane Switch (IPS) screen technology which makes a 178-degree screening angle and comprises of a triple camera system for multi-touch accessibility. IPS and S-IPS panels are the way to go for viewing angles and clarity and accuracy of color reproduction, you get what you pay for, TN (Twisted Nematic) and VA (Vertical Alignment) panels will have their advantages but if you want the best monitors stick with S-IPS/H-IPS (In Plane Switching) panels. The new PC also comes with a 23 inch, completely HD LED LCD monitor with touch capabilities. The PC also comes with two light weight polarized sets of 3D goggles for 3D HD familiarity. Connectivity choices for the PC comprise 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and an option of either a Blu-ray drive or DVD drive. The PC measures a mere 44.65mm in width. This lightweight PC will come with the option of either using the Windows Home Premium OS or the Windows 7 Home Basic. Users will have the choice to pick from Intel's Core i3, i5 or i7 processors. The PC also packs a lightning fast 8GB RAM and up to 750GB hard disk for memory. It supports Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) to enable data sharing amid other devices, as well as Intel's Wireless Display, Wi-Di, to wirelessly connect to the TV. This all-in-one PC is also "swaggered" with a HD webcam with a stereo microphone and numerous other features! Here's a brief video introducing the V300 All-In-One PC that I found online. Take a closer look at it and see if it's the PC you wouldn't mind investing in if you're on the lookout for a new PC. via coolestgadgetsandgizmos http://coolestgadgetsandgizmos.com/ Related posts: - Blackberry Torch I love my Blackberry Tour and yes I am a...

I've always been a huge fan of Vans footwear, because as far as their looks go, not only do they look bad ass with whatever you're wearing, but for casual clothing buffs, they're the ultimate addition to any shoe collection. Here are a few of my favorite Van sneakers. The first pair is the Vans California Chukka Decon Boot. It is yet another release from Vans California. They have a nice smooth finish and suede uppers. With its simple design, it manages to add a premium feel to the wearer. So far three such colors have been released. Black, tan and the color shown here, grey. These beauties are available through finer Vans California accounts. On these ones above, Vans collaborates with Shut Skateboards founder Rodney Smith to create these definitive skater shoes. They are part of the Vans Syndicate Rodney Pack. Featured in the footwear set are the classic Old Skool O.G. and Native American O.G. Both exhibit a wide use of various material including suede, tumbled leather, smooth leather, canvas and even perforated suede. They feature a similar color palette of red, white and blue. Vans have recently released a new pair of shoes with the OTW members. The Blackouts. These shoes have been "renovated" to refine the silhouette and improve the uppers. The collaborators have also added their own logo to the soles of the shoes. It features full grain leather with perforated quarter panel and canvas linings. Pigskin linings in both versions highlight tonal embossed leather, tongue labeling and quality cotton laces. Look for them soon through Vans OTW. Vans have collaborated with TRON to release the sk8-hi pair of shoes. The colorway is relatively basic with a black upper and high contrast turquoise stripe. Other details are a tonal printed stripe and a TRON logo on the tongue. They are available now through ABC Mart in Japan. via hypebeast Related posts: - Droolworthy Casual Footwear You Should Be Looking Forward To If there's a pair of sneakers you should be looking...

Trying to text at the movies can be a tricky thing. This is because sometimes you really have to keep in touch with someone at that point of time, but the screw up is that it can be pretty irritating to see a bright LED light from someone's phone when the only light is coming from the movie screen. So here are some tips regarding text etiquette in the movie theater. It makes sense if you decide to text during an interval, or before the movie starts. However if you feel that you really need to text while the movie is going on, it would make sense if you put your phone under a bag that 's on your lap, or if you could put it under a coat just so that majority of the light doesn't go around the theater. Another thing that I don't think I have to mention is the relevance of keeping your phone on silent in the theater. Remember those thick heads whose phones ring right during the climax scene of the movie? Remember how much fun it is when it's another person and not your phone that rings? You then have the entire cinema theater smacking their tongues against the roofs of their mouths. So please make this a reflex action of yours. Get into the habit of putting your phones on vibrator or silent mode before entering the theater. Another pointer would be to not text because the movie you're watching is boring. It would be better if you walk out of the hall then. Nobody likes sitting next to a distracting busy body in the theater. Well, that's as much as my brain could compile at this very moment. Please feel free to add more points in the comments section of this article. Related posts: - Three New Horror Movies in 2009 Check out these 3 horror films coming out next...

I've always had a policy of "out with the old, and in with the new", but there's something so cool about these Nike sneakers that I just can't think of running out and buying a pair of my own. Well this is the new Vintage Skyforce 88 from Nike. As far as sneakers are concerned, Nike has always been third on my list, my first being Adidas and then Converse. But with shoes like these ones, I'm going to have to reassess my priorities. Constructed from either red or grey suede, the classic basketball shoe also features the "Sky Force" tag on the tongue. I've always liked the look that Plimsols have had. They make the wearer look like a beach tourist or a sophisticated tennis player. If you're looking for classic, casual good looks then these babies with retro denim jeans and the right shirt would look really good. Sort of a bubbly indie look. These are the SeavVees Vintage Shirting Fabric plimsols. I haven't seen these around anywhere personally but since I came across them online I just had to put them up. They sport a cool canvas look that seems ideal to loaf about in. Well here again we see that Nike manages to take us back to old school (I'm so bad at this). These sneakers fall under the new Dunk Low Vintage Pack. They're a blast from the past and they consist of four pairs that define the 80's. They range from the classic Lakers' gold and purple look to the Knicks orange and white home colors. They're already out in all Nike retail stores. Well I guess my perception on classic shoes have changed for the better. These babies are always going to be in style or atleast till the world ends in 2012! via theshoebuff Related posts: - Nike ACG LunarWood QS Pack We hardly write about sneakers on this site, however these...

Japanese electronic heavyweights, Nissho Electronics releases its latest 52-inch Glasses-free 3D HDTV in Japan, the Dimenco BDL5231V3D. As far as clarity is concerned, this TV is one of the best after all, it is HD. With regards to its sound quality, again it comes with digitally enhanced sound engineering. I'm hoping that means pretty good sound quality. As far as a good TV watching experience is concerned, this one takes the cake. I'd highly recommend it for any deep pocketed couch potato. What's even better is that there is no complicated procedure of wearing #D glasses. The 3 dimensional effect is already built into the TV screen. But on a more serious note, this is a definite must for all those who have a fetish for home theater systems. From most of the other companies that are out there, this one does not compromise on quality. Here is a list of all its features that it comes with. The Dimenco BDL5231V3D features a 2000:1 contrast ratio, along with 1920×1080 Full HD resolution. It also comes with an 8ms response time and 700cd/m2 brightness. The 3D HDTV supports 2D and 3D modes and is competent to auto switch between 2D and 3D. It is equipped with Dimenco's rendering core for 2D/3D display processing. The TV supports 2D-plus Depth in 3D form that transfer 28 diverse outlooks that is interwoven into a 3D image. It offers DVI-D single link input. Ideally, I'd say that this would be an ideal choice for those who are on the lookout for a quality 3D HD television set. But obviously this TV is not just meant for anybody. It's meant for anybody who can pay. Nissho has set the price of the Dimenco BDL5231V3D at a whopping 1.7 million yen ($20,700). So would you still be willing to buy this TV? via coolestgadgetsandgizmos Related posts: - ViewSonic Show'n Go 3DV5 3D HD Camcorder New in the world of frivolous but awesome gadgets is...

Looking for some shades this summer? Oakley is one of those few companies that can blow minds away with their radical designs. These are just a few that we came across. The "Eyeshades" were probably the first pair of sunglasses that Oakley first came out with. They had first been reissued with a lemon yellow rim. Now they've returned one more time in this exclusive black rimmed collection. These versions feature adjustable contrast arms and a gradient black to clear lens. They also exhibit a soft rubber nose piece. These originally had comfort over style in mind. The all plastic Eyeshades doesn't look like the sturdiest pair we’ve ever seen, but in this age of crazy eyewear, they just might be the head turners you need for weekend play. Retro Acetate frames have somehow always managed to have a significant resurgence with the popular crowds. These Frogskin Oakley sunglasses have been reworked to sport a gradient translucent finish. Produced in conjunction with and exclusively for, London boutique oki-ni, sadly only 35 pairs of these will be made. Star snowboarder, Shaun White aka "The Flying Tomato" has managed to collaborate with Oakley to create a signature frame. Here the both of them have put the finishing touches on the Holbrook Model. Known almost as much for his unique personal style on and off the hill, these shades have a slight throw back look, making them far more fashionable than other Oakley performance designs. The silver hardware at the horns is a nice touch and the yellow tinted mirror lenses will most certainly guarantee a few hard glances this summer. These are our defining list from Oakley for now. We'll definitely put up some more as soon as we see some hot new models. via framegeek Related posts: - Gucci’s New Fall/Winter Aviator Sunglasses Gucci's new Fall/Winter large Aviator sunglasses are now available online...

Are there dates that you just can’t remember or just didn’t mean anything to you? Well here are 4 suggestions that will leave an impression. Suggestion #1: Your First Date Is the "Conversation Date" In junior high "going out" meant that you claimed to be somebody's "boyfriend" (it usually helped if the girl in question agreed to be your "girlfriend"). You didn't even have to talk to the girl to be considered "a couple." Well it's time to man up! No matter how well you think you know a person there is always more to learn about them. Therefore the first date should be memorable and fun but should also be conducive to conversation. That means no movies. There's no way to talk during a movie without annoying a bunch of people who shelled out ten-twenty bucks for a ticket—not something that you want to do. I know you're thinking, "Well that's fine, I'll just take her out to dinner," but that might not be the best option either. Dinner can be problematic for several reasons. Some women tend to be a little bit self-conscious about their dining habits (including the foods they order and the way they eat). In many ways, eating is a more intimate activity than we often give it credit for. Also, the gentleman in training may forget to slow his pace when it comes to shoveling down whatever succulent slab of meat he decided to order enough to actually have a conversation with the living, breathing human being across the table from him. Besides, who wants to spend the rest of the night wondering if they have asparagus stuck in their teeth? Instead of centering on watching each other chew, a good first date will provide plenty of opportunities for interaction as well as cater to the common interests of you and your date. This brings me to my second suggestion. Suggestion #2: Do Things That She's Interested In This is especially nice on the first date because it shows you've taken the time to find out a little bit about her interests, but it's equally important on subsequent dates as well. As an example, my wife likes to play tennis. She used to play for her high school tennis team, but when she came to college she didn't have much time to play anymore. It was a perfect date opportunity because it was something she enjoyed doing but didn't get to do very much because she had no one to play with. It didn't even matter that I'm a terrible tennis player—in fact she seemed to enjoy making me run all over the court. I was of course a good sport about it, and it ended up being highly enjoyable for both of us. If you don't know a girl too well, her blog or Facebook page could be excellent sources of information. Read her blog and look through her favorites to see what sort of things she likes doing. I wouldn't suggest making your date feel like you are Facebook stalking her, but if she asks where you came up with the idea for the date it's best to be honest and say something along the lines of, "I saw on your blog that you're interested in (insert name of activity here)," and leave it at that. Later in the relationship you will likely find common interests, and those will be perfect platforms for dates that you will both be able to enjoy as you grow closer together. Suggestion #3: Do Something Unique or Novel This is where my little anecdote about my grandparents and the 3D movie comes in (I know you were wondering when I was going to tie that in). While 3D seems to be the newest scheme to suck ridiculous amounts of money out of moviegoers, back in the 1950's it was a rather novel concept. My grandpa gets mad points for doing something a little bit "out there." Not only will unique and novel dates give you easy fodder for making conversation, but the excitement they generate will bond you together. Take a drawing or cooking class. Go kayaking. Play some Frisbee golf. Go see an interesting art exhibit or visit a museum. The idea is to get out and actually do something. Most men have the idea of the passive date ingrained in their heads, but an active date will always be much more memorable. Suggestion #4: Get Cooking They say the key to a man's heart is his stomach; well the same is true for women, too. Remember, cooking is manly. If you want to insist on having a dinner date then skip the restaurant and save a little money (but don't be cheap!) and whip up something amazing in the kitchen. If you want to really surprise her the next time she invites you over, show up with a box of cooking supplies, commandeer her kitchen, and impress her with your culinary prowess. Just don't leave a mess! (It's important that you be invited over for this to work because you don't want to show up without giving her ample time to tidy up; she'll just be annoyed, not impressed.) Don't know how to cook? Well start learning! Learning new skills is manly. If you have some patience and you know how to read then cooking shouldn't give you too much trouble. Check out the food and drink section here on Pinstripe to get some ideas. via artofmanliness Related posts: - A Dinner Date At Home, The 10 Commandments There's nothing more romantic than a dinner date a home....

"Two and a Half Men" star Jon Cryer says he was genuinely surprised by Charlie Sheen‘s recent headline-making behavior and antics. "It’s as much a mystery to me as to everybody, I think," he said on a recent show on "The Late Show With David Letterman." "My favorite moment was when I got a text actually, from someone, I don’t know who it was, saying, ‘Charlie Sheen just called Thomas Jefferson a dick.’ I said, ‘I think things are getting out of hand'," Jon joked. “We didn’t see where it was going,” the actor continued. “This has never happened before, honestly. It wasn’t like, back in 1963, oh everyone remembers when Fred McMurray went bats and started talking about free mason ninjas and stuff. It was crazy! And Vivian Vance started urinating on the set of ‘Here’s Lucy’… so nobody was prepared for this… None of us wanted to continue with the show if we felt it was hurting him, and there was a point at which when everyone felt like… there was no control here.” In March when Sheen was fired from "Two And A Half Men"and the show’s future was in limbo, Jon told Dave that people approached him on the street to express their strong feelings about the situation. “It was the end of the world for some people. There are a lot of fans of the show… when we shut down, it hit people hard,” he said. Despite Charlie’s antics – which included calling Jon a “troll” – the actor said he still considers him a friend. “We want nothing but the best for him. I want him to get healthy, stay sober, I want him to be reunited with his family,” Jon said of former co-star. “That would be the best thing.” It appears Charlie’s replacement, Ashton Kutcher, might be as much of a handful as his predecessor. During a recent trip from Los Angeles to New York for the CBS Upfronts, Jon recalled how Ashton gushed about the joys of flying on the network’s corporate jet. “‘You know what I love about private jets? You can bring knives on board,’” Jon said, recounting Ashton’s joke. “There you go … chapter two. He’s crazy, like the first guy,” Dave joked. “Two and a Half Men” returns to CBS this fall. via yahoo Related posts: - Real Men Don't Buy Women?
