2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Porsche has once again released another version of the 911. This time, the 911 Carrera 4 GTS, to be specific. Frankly, we're growing quite weary of keeping up with the various 911 Porsche models that are coming out in the market with this (we think) being the 20th model of the 911 in the market. We're not so sure if you've noticed, but most of the Porsche cars are replicas of each other except with a few minor cosmetic and power train exceptions. The Carrera is no different from the other cars that Porsche has to offer, but here are its specifications anyways. 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS The 911 Carrera 4 GTS is a rear wheel drive and also has a new traction control system. It is a flat six engine that has 408 horsepower with a capacity of 3.8 liters. The engine, once again, is a six speed manually transmitted one. The car is once again standardized as the other Porsche cars in the sense that it can travel from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and so did the other models of the 911 (well, more or less). As far as the car's face value is concerned, the Carrera GTS gets a slight revision in terms of side skirts, lip spoiler, and 19 incher black RS Spyder wheels as well. The interior is quite sleek with the use of Alcantara on the sport bucket seats. The 911 Carrera 4 GTS is available in both convertible and hard-top versions. The base price of the car starts at $110,200. However there is nothing new as we feel that Porsche is just trying to sell the same car in the form of different models to confuse their customers. LG Thrill 4G, Sure To Keep You Busy. You might know it better as the LG Optimus 4G that comes with a glasses-free 3D screen as well as dual core power. This beast of a phone has a dual camera as well as a dual core processor which is sure to keep you busy with its inbuilt load of goodies. LG Thrill 4G As far as the hardware is concerned, it is simple as well as elegant but remains bold with its underlying features. It has a glasses free 4.3 inch display screen as well as a dual core 1 Ghz TI OMAP 4 CPU. Another nifty characteristic of the Optimus 4G is its awesome 5 MP dual camera. It is powered by Android 2.2 and comes included with an 8 Gig Micro SD card. Apparently this model is LG's first model to have "Tri-Dual" Architecture. By that they mean dual camera, dual processor as well as dual channel RAM. Most of the pre installed applications are in 3D. These include Movies, Lets Golf 2, Gulliver's travels, Asphalt 6, 3D guide, other 3D games, 3D gallery as well as the 3D camera. The phone basically features everything that an Android lover would want in a smartphone. Most people might think that the 3D effect is just a gimmick to get past the lack of features that the phone has to offer, but we don't think so. The phone offers just as much as any high end smartphone that's powered by Android. You can get the phone from AT&T on a two year contract for just $99. The Toshiba Thrive tablet is not exactly a piece of eye candy. But if you're reading this review, it already means that you want to look past its awkward exterior and want to see if it actually has good features. Well, your instincts have guided you to the right place if you're looking for a device that offers ample full sized ports, Android 3.1 Honeycomb, as well as a swappable battery. Toshiba Thrive The Toshiba Thrive has a 16:10 aspect ratio as well as a high resolution of 1280×800 on a 10.1 inch screen. The viewing quality is excellent as any one would expect from an IPS panel. It is also a slight bit thinner and longer than the iPad 2. The widescreen is perfect for when you're watching movies, but it would be quite inconvenient if you try to hold it one hand and try to navigate on it with the other. Inside the Thrive, we see that it has a 1GB NVIDIA dual core processor and a Gig of RAM. There are also three option for onboard flash memory: 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB. One of the major strengths of the Thrive is the huge variety of SD cards that it can support. These include the standard SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. If you're looking for something that looks trendy then this one would not necessarily be meant for you. But if you're looking for utility over looks, then we recommend the Toshiba Thrive. 2011 Kia Sportage The 2011 Kia Sportage is lower, longer and wider than its previous ancestors and facing facts, we too feel that the car is like a reinvention of the CUV segment. Although we do want to find out whether the car actually performs and is not just a looker. The 2011 Kia Sportage has a 2.4 liter, DOHC 16 valve, 4 cylinder engine that can produce power of up to 176 horsepower at 6,000 rotations per minute. The engine also produces a torque capacity of 168 lb ft. It has six speed automatic and manual transmissions and can go from 0-60 in around 9.3 seconds. It has a top speed of 114 mph and a curb weight of 3,186 lbs. The exterior of the vehicle is characterized by a distinct C pillar as well as LED daytime running lights. Pronounced tail lights and a dynamically sculpted hood all form to give the car a clean and contemporary look. Kia have also replaced using cheap plastic on their interiors and have more than surprised us with quality fittings. These include power windows, dual zone automatic climate control. It also has an AM/FM/CD/Mp3 Sirius music system with 4 speakers as well as door mounted tweeters. It has all the other regular features on most all wheel drives as well as a trip computer on the driver's side dash. The model that we tested was the 2011 Kia Sportage EX AWD test model. This one carried a final price tag of $29,990 after a few fiitings were put in. The car had navigation, a premium stereo system, heated leather seats, a reverse camera package, and a lot more as well. The base model of the car is priced at $18, 295. Maserati has recently taken its amazing model of the GranCabrio convertible to the next level by releasing the GranCabrio Sport. The GranCabrio sport was officially released this year at the Geneva Motor Show. From the Convertible version of the model, the sport has a 4.7 liter engine with a ten horsepower increase which makes the car a blistering 450 hp machine. The car also exhibits an improved fuel economy system with a faster MC Auto Shift transmission. 2012 Maserati GranCabrio Sport The car is most definitely an impressive model with its capacity of reaching speeds of up to 285 kilometers per hour. It has a pick up speed from 0 to 100 km/h in a short run of 5.2 seconds. Apart from its performance, the GranCabrio also impressed us with its interiors. The car has a new seat face design with drilled aluminum pedals. As of now, it comes into two tones of rich leather, Grigio Chrono and Bianco Pregiato. Grigio Chrono is more of an off grey color while Bianco Pregiato is an all white colour as opposed to the pearl shade that was used in the convertible model. Back to its engine again, the GranCabrio uses an all alloy 4.7 liter V8 engine that produces a power of 450 hp @ 7,000 rpm which is copied off the GranTurismo MC Stradle. The car also packs in unbelievable torque at 510 Nm which is 20 Nm more than the convertible. The driving transmission gives the driver five different driving modes. Namely, manual-normal, auto-normal, manual-sport, ice and auto-sport. 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid (front) 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid (back) In our minds, we always feel that any sort of hybrid car is probably the worst excuse for a new car and an even worse external design, but Japanese automakers, Honda are here to prove us wrong in that notion by showing us that hybrid and ugly don't always have to go hand in hand and are in fact not one and the same. With the release of the CR-Z Hybrid, Honda has proven that they are capable of drawing the attention of the performance enthusiast with this six speed manual transmission drive. The CR-Z's engine is a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder i-VTEC Honda electric motor which has a bracing horsepower of 122 with a torque capacity of 128lb ft. It has six speed automatic and manual transmissions and weighs in at around 2, 630 lbs. It can go from 0-60 mph in 9 seconds and has a top speed of 122 miles per hour. Its mileage is sufficiently reasonable at 31 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on the highway. The car has a sporty look and even incorporates that reputation by being a two seater car. Even though it seems relatively small from the outside, its high quality silver mesh sports seats offer a surprising amount of space even for the larger driver. However, a lot of people may be put off by the car's mediocre performance, for the price, we think that the car is sporty enough. At a base price of $19,345 and $19,995 for the CVT model, we feel that this car is a steal.
